Katy Piotrowski, M.Ed., author of the Career Coward’s series, has been a career counselor in private practice in Fort Collins, Colorado, for more than 15 years. She has a Master’s of Education in counseling and career development and has helped thousands of individuals achieve success in the job hunt and beyond through a variety of career counseling and support tools. 

Piotrowski has worked with organizations such as Agilent Technologies, Hewlett Packard, Kodak, and more on career development and transition projects. She has also taught graduate-level career counseling courses at Colorado State University. 

Piotrowski conducts many workshops to help job seekers overcome their job hunt fears and succeed in finding a career that is right for them. She sits on multiple workforce center boards and has received “Business Associate of the Year” recognition from the American Business Women’s Association.

Piotrowski was recognized nationally as a “Top-10 Career Counselor of the Year” for effectiveness in helping her clients achieve their career objectives.

She is the author of the weekly “On the Job” career advice column in the Ft. Collins Coloradoan and has quickly become one of the most sought-after experts on job search and career change. She has been widely quoted in a variety of publications, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, U.S. News & World Report, Essence, Forbes, and many others.
